Is Korn going electronic? Not exactly. But they are experimenting with this musical genre on their upcoming album, The Path Of Totality (P.O.T.).

These masters of metal worked with some of the biggest names in electronic music on their new studio album, which comes out December 6. Fans will enjoy collaboration with Skrillex, Datsik, Kill the Noise, 12th Planet, Feed Me and Noisia. And some of these new music partners will join Korn on the road this fall.

The P.O.T. tour will begin in advance of the album’s release, with the first gig scheduled at Boston’s House of Blues on November 3. This first leg will also stop off at the Roseland Ballroom in NYC, Fillmore Miami Beach in Florida, Sunken Garden Amphitheatre in San Antonio, TX, and Palladium Ballroom in Dallas, to name a few.

Dubstep DJs Datsik and Downlink, plus a live set by Dope D.O.D., will be Korn’s special guests during this outing. More dates and a second leg expected soon!

The Monster Energy Tour featuring Korn and Disturbed is kicking off on Jan. 14 at the U.S. Cellular Center in Bloomington, Ill. And running through Feb. 12 at the Fairpark Coliseum in Lubbock, Texas.

Additional tour dates for the 20-city tour include stops at the Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines on Jan. 15 and the MetroCentre in Rockford, Ill.; the Giant Center in Hershey, Penn., on Jan. 16; the State Armory in Rochester on Jan. 19; the Constant Convocation Center in Norfolk on Jan. 25; the House of Blues in Atlantic City on Jan. 30; and the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville on Feb. 4.

In addition to the larger venues that the bands will be playing at, they also wanted to focus on smaller markets that don’t get as much attention.

“When the idea first came up, one of the main things both bands agreed upon and wanted to focus on was hitting a lot of smaller markets,” said Disturbed’s David Draiman. “It’s exciting to bring a show like this to cities that are usually skipped over on some of the other larger rock tours that only hit the major markets. We have a lot of loyal fans in these cities and we wanted to bring them a show that they deserve.”

2010 is shaping up to be a busy year for Korn. The heavy metal quartet will be traveling the open roads all summer long to promote their forth coming album ” Korn III: Remember Who You Are.”

The track listing for the new album was just released in a post via their official website. No official date has been announced. In a recent radio interview, bassist Fieldy confirmed that the first single will be unveiled within the next month and fans should expect a late summer release for Korn’s ninth studio album.

Frontman Jonathan Davis talks about the ideas behind Korn III, “This album is a reflection of us being a band since 1993. We worked hard on the previous records, and we experimented a lot. For Remember Who You Are, the four of us got together in a small room with the intention of writing an old school Korn record. This album is a perfect mixture of everything we’ve done, and this version of the band is the ever.”

Korn will be co-headlining the 2010 Mayhem Festival alongside Rob Zombie, Lamb of God and Five Finger Dead Punch. This summer performances will also include the Ballroom Blitz Tour which will visit smaller venue’s in order to recreate the vibe of their beginning tours.

Keep checking back for more Korn news.
